Meaning and Direction Coaching for Neurodivergent Adults
Alongside counselling, I offer Meaning and Direction Coaching for adults who feel stuck, misaligned, burnt out, or unsure what comes next.
This coaching is particularly supportive for neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD or autism, and for people navigating identity shifts, parenting, burnout, or a growing sense that the life they are living no longer quite fits.
Meaning and direction coaching is not about fixing yourself, improving productivity, or pushing for change. It offers a reflective, future-focused space to pause, make sense of where you are, and gently explore how you might want to move forward in a way that feels aligned, sustainable, and true to you.
Meaning and direction coaching supports you to reconnect with what matters to you at this stage of your life.
Many people seek this work after long periods of coping, masking, or adapting to expectations. You may feel flat, uncertain, or disconnected from yourself, even if things look “fine” from the outside.
You might know something needs to change, without knowing what that change should be.
In this coaching, we take time to understand:
This work allows direction to emerge gradually, without urgency or pressure to have everything figured out.
My coaching is humanistic, neurodivergent-affirming, and needs-led, grounded in professional training and lived experience.
Sessions are collaborative and reflective. We work at a pace that honours your capacity, nervous system, and real life, particularly if you are managing burnout, parenting demands, or long-term overwhelm.
Coaching may include reflective conversation and optional creative tools, such as:
These tools are always offered as invitations, not requirements, and no artistic ability is needed.
They are used to support clarity and self-understanding, not to analyse or interpret.
This is a space where you do not need to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or present a polished version of who you are.
Meaning and direction coaching may be helpful if you are:
This work is not about setting big goals or making drastic changes (although that is ok too!).
Often, it’s about noticing what needs more space, rest, or permission, and allowing direction to grow from there.
Coaching and counselling are different forms of support, and it’s important that these roles remain ethically separate. I cannot work with the same person as both a coach and a counsellor, as this would create a dual relationship.
For this reason:
At times, it may become clear during coaching that counselling would be a better fit for what you are experiencing.
If this happens, we will discuss this openly and sensitively, and I will support you with signposting or referrals rather than continuing coaching inappropriately.
Sessions are paced around your capacity.
There is no pressure to disclose more than feels safe, no expectation to move quickly, and no need to present yourself in any particular way.
The intention is to create a respectful, supportive space where you can take a breath and be honest about what is really going on for you.
Meaning and direction coaching may be a good fit if you:
This coaching is not suitable if you are currently in acute distress or need therapeutic support for trauma or mental health difficulties.
In those situations, counselling or other therapeutic services may be more appropriate.
If you’re interested in meaning and direction coaching, the next step is an initial conversation to explore whether this feels like the right kind of support for you.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want or where you’re heading. We can begin with where you are.
